About Me

Welcome to my digital world at GA Tech!

Hi! My name is Tiffany Yan. I am a biomedical engineering major at GA Tech. I’m hoping to graduate with a focus in cell and tissue engineering or biomaterials. I’m also a part of the Co-Op program at GA Tech.

I grew up in Peachtree City, GA; it’s approximately 30 minutes outside of Atlanta. The town is known for its golf carts. We have golf cart paths that run through the city. You can basically take a golf cart anywhere in town as long as you have enough battery life. My high school is probably one of the only schools in the United States to have a golf cart parking lot. In Peachtree City, it’s a coming of age when you are finally able to drive the golf cart by yourself. Every 15 year old kid thinks he’s cool driving to the local pizza place on his golf cart with his friends.

Some of my hobbies include crocheting, rock climbing, and playing board games. Crocheting is an easy thing to do while watching tv or a movie. I’ve recently become interested in rock climbing this past summer. My friends and I would go to the local climbing gym in Peachtree City to hang out and get a great work out. I love to play board games like Scrabble, Bananagrams, Cranium, and Catch Phrase.

In high school, I was the vice president of the National Honor Society and the PTSO. I was also highly involved with the Beta Club and Science Olympiad. I also played as the principal chair cello in the school orchestra for four years. We actually were able to play at Carnegie Hall in New York City this past spring. The acoustics on the stage are unbelievable. It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

I’m excited to spend my next four to five (or possibly six) years here at GA Tech.

Hopefully, you’ll get to know me even better through my future posts on this blog! Thanks for reading. 🙂

You are my lab partner! and we are both biomedical engineering! Thats really cool that you want an emphasis in tissue engineering. Are you Pre-med? I didn’t know that you could specialize in anything for your undergrad!
